Classical jewellery box by Asprey of London, lined in green leather, with a removable inner tray to reveal a second compartment; vintage English Art Deco period from circa 1930. The key does not operate this lock.

Condition: the key does not fit, some surface wear

Style note — items in the Art Deco style were often produced using new materials of the period, such as stainless steel, aluminium and Bakelite – an early type of plastic. Bold colours were used to produce attractive design by creating strong contrasts.
