BARCOL BAKELITE VINTAGE ELECTRIC FAN CATALIN RETRO
1930s Barcol Bakelite Electric Desk Fan manufactured by the Barber-Coleman Company of Rockford, Illinois and marketed under the "Barcol" brand. Barber-Coleman was famous for manufacturing fans out of bakelite and with just two blades. They claimed two blades pushed just as much air as four-blade models, but were more efficient when running, thereby saving money on electricity. The fan features 8" diameter aluminum blades, a steel cage, and bakelite motor housing and base. The fan is "estate fresh" and is all-original. The fan head can be tilted up and down via an easily adjustable wing-nut on the "neck" of the fan. It is also a wall-mount model, and can be mounted on the wall via small screw holes in the base. While the fan looks amazing on a table or mantle, it looks fantastic mounted to a wall - especially if you want a stunning conversation piece. The fan stands 11" high, and is 8 1/2" across.
